Interested in working with the Flaming Lotus Girls on the next
master-piece or should I say mistress-piece??? Well the time has come
to
get in on this years projectl! On saturday April 19th and saturday
April
26th at noon we are offering welding fire and shop 101 for the next
wave
of Flaming Lotus Girls!!! No prior shop skills necessary, just a desire

to come on board and put some sweat equity into the next creation to
come from the sexiest group of pyros alive!!!

Here's the deal....

On april 19th and 26th at noon, gals (and guys) interested in working
on
this years project in any capacity (big or small/ grinding or typing or

wiring) are welcome to come by the Box Shop and get an intro to mig
welding, use of common tools and a fire effects intro as well as
preview
of this year project. If you come please be sincere in wanting to help
out. Also we ask for a twenty dollar donation to go to the shop for use

of materials and energy.

Please be sure to wear non synthetic clothing. Cotton, denim and
tightly
knit clothes will do fine. Please no fleeces or plastic like material
as
they can be highly flammable!! bring clothes that cover your arms and
legs as well as closed-toed shoes. Be aware that what ever you wear in
a
metal shop will likely be ruined along with electronics (ipods and
laptops at your own risk!) Lonh hair and loose clothing with hanging
stuff is dangerous! Keep it tight! I also recommend bringing your own
bottle of drinking water as there is none available. Come to both
classes if you like or just one, we will try to cover the same stuff in

each however you never know what will unexpectedly happen at the
shop...

The box shop is home to many artists...not just FLG!!! respect their
space and please don't park in front of active driveways or gates!!!

Directions by car
>From 101 north or south: take the Cesar Chavez exit and follow signs
to Cesar Chavez Street East.
Go 1/4 mile on Cesar Chavez east to the Evans Ave traffic light.
Turn right/south onto Evans Ave at the traffic light. Check your
odometer, you are now 1.6 miles from the Box Shop.
On Evans Ave, you'll pass a power plant, then the road curves to the
right, then you'll pass the India Basin Shoreline Park.
Immediately after India Basin Shoreline Park and before a fork in the
road, turn left onto Hudson Ave, a dirt road. You'll see a large
hand-painted sign high up on a shipping container poking above the
fence
that reads "The Box Shop".
On Hudson Ave, the Box Shop is the first yard on the right.
Consider diagonal parking on Hudson Ave or back out and park in front
of
the church across the street.
